Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte S.A. (Edenor) is the largest electricity distribution company in Argentina in terms of number of customers and electricity sold (both in GWh and Pesos). At December 31st, 2019 we have the highest number of customers in the country, which amountes to three million, and our energy purchases represent 19% of the country’s overall energy demand in 2019.
The company holds a concession to distribute electricity exclusively in the northwestern zone of the greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area and the northern part of the city of Buenos Aires, which has a population of approximately 9 million people and an area of 4,637 sq. km.
In 2019, Edenor sold 19,974 GWh of energy and purchased 24,960 GWh of energy, with net sales of approximately Ps. 74 billion and a net profit of Ps. 9,873 million (in functional currency).
Edenor operates in a highly regulated environment. Our tariffs and the other terms of our concession are subject to regulation by the Argentine government, acting through the Secretariat of Energy reporting to the Ministry of Finance and to the Argentine National Electricity Regulator (ENRE).
